Collagen supplements are good for hair and skin?
As you get older collagen declines, particularly in the skin, and this is what contributes to a lot of aging.
But what has happened is the ‘big boys’ in the beauty industry have got hold of this scientific fact, and they’re created a whole industry full of collagen supplements that just don’t work.
The reason being is that by ingesting collagen, that largely comes from ground up farm animals by the way, which people never advertise, you ingest it, and it doesn’t get absorbed. So they started making collagens of really small segments of collagen that do get absorbed. But that doesn’t mean that that collagen you’re drinking actually makes it into the skin compartments where the collagen is lost as you get older.
So it is just such a waste of money and I do not recommend people to take collagen supplements.
