Why VI Peel

VI Peel is a virtually painless chemical peel that promotes cellular turnover and refines the surface layer of the skin to improve the tone, texture and clarity of the skin while providing several anti-aging benefits.

VI Peels are medium-strength, medical-grade chemical peels that helps to treat acne, acne scarring, melasma pigmentation, hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone. VI Peel also minimize signs of ageing, including fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage and helps minimise pore size. Even for those with younger skin that shows no visible signs of ageing, the VI Peel can serve as a preventative measure against ageing.

Treating Your Skin Concerns

  • Acne and acne scarring
  • Melasma, age spots and freckles
  • Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH)
  • Sun related pigmentation changes
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Loss of collagen and tone

How does it work

VI Peel works by gently eliminating the outermost layer of skin, known as the epidermis, as well as the uppermost portion of the underlying dermal layers. This allows for the regeneration of smoother and more radiant skin in its place.

The VI Peel formula utilises a unique blend of active ingredients, including retinoid acid, trichloroacetic acid (TCA), salicylic acid, phenol and ascorbic acid. These ingredients work together to safely remove the damaged layers of the skin. Each one has their own benefit to the skin:

Retinoic Acid:This powerhouse acid penetrates the skin inhibiting melanin production and increasing cell turnover.

Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA):TCA then targets signs of aging by boosting collagen and exfoliating the skin.

Salicylic Acid:Prevents inflammation by killing bacteria, suppresses sebum production and cleansing the pores.

Phenol:This is the secret weapon that numbs the skin allowing for a painless application.

Ascorbic Acid:Finally, the ascorbic acid is a powerful antioxidant that reverses free radicals, evens skin tone and helps prevent future damage.

VI Peel Treatment before and after

Your Questions Answered

What happens during the treatment?

The skin is cleaned and then the peel applied. For the first few seconds you might feel some stinging. The peel is left on after the treatment, for at least 4 hours, and you will be given instructions for how to remove it at home.

What happens after the treatment?

Immediately after the peel has been applied to the skin, it may look yellow. Dark areas of skin may appear darker, as the pigment is lifted from the skin. On about day 3-4 the skin peeling with begin, and it will stop around days 6-7. The level of peeling differs greatly, depending on the area, type of skin and condition of skin.  Some may experience significant peeling while others very little to none but will still receive all the benefits of the ViPeel.

Will I need to have any pre-treatment?

As part of your bespoke skincare plan, Dr. Veraitch is likely to advise on a routine to prepare your skin so that you gain maximal benefit from the peel.

How many treatments will I need?

For optimal results, we recommend a series of 3-4 VI Peels, although many patients see significant results with just one treatment.

When will I see results?

Following the treatment, the skin is expected to peel for approximately 7 days. Once the peeling subsides, you’ll see noticeable improvements in the skin's appearance within a week. The benefits of the VI Peel can continue to enhance the skin's condition over time, and continued improvement may be seen even months after the initial treatment.

Am I a suitable candidate for VI Peel?

VI Peel is safe for all skin types and ethnicities.

What is the down time?

The procedure takes less than 30 minutes and has minimal to no downtime. You can go back to your regular activities immediately after treatment.
