Why Profhilo?

WHAT IS PROFHILO?
Profhilo is an injectable anti-ageing treatment made from hyaluronic acid. It is the first BDDE-free stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) product and contains one of the highest concentrations of Hyaluronic Acid in the market. Known as a “bio-remodeller”, when Profhilo is injected into skin, it stimulates the skin cell receptors to tackle skin laxity and hydration, to improve and restore firmness to the skin.
HOW DOES PROFHILO WORK?
Ultra-pure hyaluronic acid is injected just underneath the surface of the skin where it disperses quickly and reacts with your own tissue to instantly boost hydration. Then, over the four weeks post-treatment, Profhilo starts to stimulate collagen and elastin through the slow release of HA (hyaluronic acid). This creates significant improvement to the the skin, giving it a plumper, smoother, firmer and more glowy appearance.
HOW DOES PROFHILO DIFFER FROM DERMAL FILLERS?
Profhilo is thermally bonded and not chemically bonded; meaning it acts as a hydrator, not a filler. Profhilo does not produce volume. Instead it attracts water to deeper layers of the skin, and stimulates collagen and elastin production, which gently rejuvenates, hydrates, tightens and improves skin texture.

Local anaesthetic cream is applied prior to treatment. The injections of Profhilo® are strategically placed under the skin using a specially developed injection technique designed to reduce pain, downtime and the number of treatment sessions.
The recommended protocol is two sessions, one month apart. In some situations where skin is particularly dehydrated or affected by photo-ageing further sessions may be required.
Profhilo can be used to rejuvenate the face, neck, chest, hands and upper arms and other body areas where the skin is dehydrated or needs superficial tightening.
Results typically appear around four weeks after treatment and continue to increase over time as the product continues to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the skin.
Following the two initial treatments results typically last around 6 months. Follow-up treatments are recommended every 6 to 9 months to maintain results.
The procedure is very quick and the needle used to administer the treatment is very fine so most patients do not feel any discomfort. We use a topical anaesthetic to reduce the risk of any discomfort.
There will be small superficial bumps to the skin at the injection site, these usually settle within 24-48 hours.
