Profhilo is an effective treatment for skin that is losing elasticity and firmness with age. Profhilo improves skin tone and hydration, while stimulating collagen and elastin production, for firmer skin and smoothed fine lines and wrinkles.
Profhilo contains hyaluronic acid, similar to dermal fillers, which is a substance found naturally in the skin. However, unlike fillers, Profhilo firms the skin by stimulating the production of collagen to improve skin laxity rather than by adding volume.

What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is an injectable anti-ageing treatment made from hyaluronic acid. It is the first BDDE-free stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) product and contains one of the highest concentrations of Hyaluronic Acid in the market. Known as a “bio-remodeller”, when Profhilo is injected into skin, it stimulates the skin cell receptors to tackle skin laxity and hydration, to improve and restore firmness to the skin.
How does Profhilo work?
Ultra-pure hyaluronic acid is injected just underneath the surface of the skin where it disperses quickly and reacts with your own tissue to instantly boost hydration. Then, over the four weeks post-treatment, Profhilo starts to stimulate collagen and elastin through the slow release of HA (hyaluronic acid). This creates significant improvement to the the skin, giving it a plumper, smoother, firmer and more glowy appearance.
How does Profhilo differ from dermal fillers?
Profhilo is thermally bonded and not chemically bonded; meaning it acts as a hydrator, not a filler. Profhilo does not produce volume. Instead it attracts water to deeper layers of the skin, and stimulates collagen and elastin production, which gently rejuvenates, hydrates, tightens and improves skin texture.
What is Hyaluronic Acid and why is it beneficial?
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring, gel-like substance in our skin which acts like a sponge. It holds in moisture and makes the skin appear plump, smooth and hydrated. Unfortunately, as we get older the body slows down its production of this vital ingredient. This results in a visible loss of firmness, pliability and suppleness. What happens during treatment?
Local anaesthetic cream is applied prior to treatment. The injections of Profhilo® are strategically placed under the skin using a specially developed injection technique designed to reduce pain, downtime and the number of treatment sessions.
How many treatments will I need?
The recommended protocol is two sessions, one month apart. In some situations where skin is particularly dehydrated or affected by photo-ageing further sessions may be required.
What areas can be treated?
Profhilo can be used to rejuvenate the face, neck, chest, hands and upper arms and other body areas where the skin is dehydrated or needs superficial tightening.
When will I see results?
Results typically appear around four weeks after treatment and continue to increase over time as the product continues to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the skin.
How long do results last?
Following the two initial treatments results typically last around 6 months. Follow-up treatments are recommended every 6 to 9 months to maintain results.
Does the treatment hurt?
The procedure is very quick and the needle used to administer the treatment is very fine so most patients do not feel any discomfort. We use a topical anaesthetic to reduce the risk of any discomfort.
What is the down time?
There will be small superficial bumps to the skin at the injection site, these usually settle within 24-48 hours.
