"I love this treatment for giving a natural and youthful appearance to the skin, without looking 'over done'" Dr. Ophelia Veraitch, Consultant Dermatologist.
FOR COSMETIC SKIN CONCERNS
- Sagging skin across the face, neck and body.
Profhilo® improves skin hydration and stimulates production of collagen and elastin, for an improvement in skin laxity.
Profhilo® contains hyaluronic acid, similar to the dermal fillers, which is a sugar found naturally in skin and tissue that attracts and retains water. This leads to an improvement in skin hydration.
However, Profhilo differs from dermal fillers as it firms the skin by stimulating the production of collagen to improve skin laxity rather than by adding volume.
What is Profhilo®?
Profhilo® is the first BDDE-free stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) product used for treating skin laxity, skin rejuvenation and tissue remodelling.
With one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64mg / 2ml) it is not only boosting and hydrating the skin, but also remodels the ageing and sagging tissue.
How does Profhilo work?
Profhilo® lasts in the skin around 28 days. During this time the stimulation of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of HA (hyaluronic acid), leading to significant tissue improvement of the skin.
Unlike most HA fillers, Profhilo® does not produce volume. It gently rejuvenates, hydrates, tightens and improves skin texture.
What areas can be treated?
Profhilo® can be used to rejuvenate the face, neck, chest, hands and upper arms and other body areas where the skin is dehydrated or needs superficial tightening.
How many treatments will I need?
The recommended protocol is two sessions, one month apart. In some situations where skin is particularly dehydrated or affected by photo-ageing further sessions may be required.
What happens during the procedure?
Local anaesthetic cream is applied prior to the are being treated being cleaned, ready for treatment. The injections of Profhilo® are strategically placed under the skin using a specially developed injection technique reducing pain, downtime and the number of treatment sessions.
What is the 'down time'?
There will be small superficial bumps to the skin at the injection site, these usually settle within 24-48 hours.
