What is Hydrafacial?

Hydrafacial is a non-invasive, multi-step treatment that combines the benefits of next level hydra-dermabrasion.

Using advanced, patented vortex technology to deeply cleanse the skin and effectively deliver botanical ingredients containing nutrients such as hyaluronic acid, horse chestnut seed extract, red algae extract, copper, zinc and magnesium peptides to the treated skin. In addition, HydraFacial also delivers powerful antioxidants to counteract damage by free radicals – from pollution, sun and stress – which can degrade the skin and accelerate the ageing process.

Treating Your Skin Concerns

  • Reducing early ageing lines
  • Improving skin elasticity and firmness
  • Stimulate collagen production
  • Reduce hyperpigmentation
  • Improve uneven skin texture and skin tone
  • Improve sun damage
  • Reduce acne and acne scarring
  • General overall improvement

How does it work?

The Hydrafacial uses a variable-level vacuum system and an assortment of treatment tips. Using the appropriate selected application tip, it gently lifts the skin removing the top layer and vacuums away impurities and dead skin cells while at the same time replenishing vital nutrients including antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid. These ingredients are able to more effectively reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for results you can see and feel instantly. The skin is left smoother as the vacuum action stimulates blood flow, cleans the pores and removes the skin impurities and debris. The increased blood flow to the skin’s surface encourages collagen, firms and tones the top layer of skin (epidermis).

The treatment is tailor-made to address each patient’s unique skincare needs. The topical solutions may include enhanced performing ingredients for reducing and improving acne/oily skin, pigmentation and fine lines and wrinkles.

Your Questions Answered

What happens during the treatment?

The Hydrafacial consists of a thorough multi-step programme:

Step 1: Facial lymphatic drainage to improve blood circulation and detoxify the skin.

Step 2: Deep cleanse and exfoliation to remove dead skin cells and impurities.

Step 3: Acid peel to deeply cleanse and remove dead skin cells and impurities.

Step 4: Extractions on oily congested areas.

Step 5: Skin specific booster, which may consist of an anti-ageing booster, brightening booster for pigmentation, or peel booster for acne or oily skin.

Step 6: Hydration with custom blended topicals which include antioxidants, peptides,  hyaluronic acid.

Step 7: LED red light therapy for anti-ageing and calming benefits on skin or LED blue light therapy for acne and oily skin, to reduce and kill P acnes bacteria on skin.

Step 8: Finish with daily essential creams and UV protection.

Hydrafacial treatments are custom made for each individual patient and treatments usually last about 60 minutes.

What happens after the treatment?

You will experience some redness. This is the desired effect and can last up to an hour. In some cases patients with deeper blemishes or thicker skin, the redness may last for several hours and, occasionally, a few days.  Mild peeling/flaky skin are signs of exfoliation and are quite normal.

Deep or more aggressive treatments may produce some spotting of blood or increase in redness and swelling; healing generally takes around one to two days.

Will I need to have any pre-treatment?

No specific pre-treatment is necessary.  Before your treatment you are advised to avoid any changes in your normal face care routine 1-2 weeks prior to the peel treatment such as facial hair bleaching, electrolysis, an exfoliating facial, exfoliating scrubs, laser treatments, sunbathing, tanning beds or use of any new creams or prescription creams.  Please inform your therapist if you change your routine at anytime as this may alter your response to the peeling agent.

Does the treatment hurt?

Hydrafacial is usually painless. You may feel stinging during the peel stage and mild skin tightening after exfoliation but the skin will be quite smooth.

How many treatments will I need?

You will see results after the first treatment.  Lasting and more significant results will occur after six treatments spaced  7-10 days.  To maintain results, a monthly treatment is recommended.

When will I see results?

Following the treatment, the skin is expected to look refreshed and you’ll see noticeable improvements in the skin's appearance within a week. The benefits of the Hydrafacial can continue to enhance the skin's condition over time, and continued improvement may be seen even months after the initial treatment.

What is the down time?

There is minimal downtime, therefore you can have lunch time treatments and return to work without problems.
