Fraxel is the first non-ablative fractional laser for skin resurfacing, with a large number of scientific papers to support its use.
The Fraxel laser system is designed the resurface the skin to provide a youthful appearance with little to no downtime. Fraxel improves skin tone and texture, and treats scarring and sun damaged skin.
Fraxel deliver energy deep into the skin, stimulating the generation of new skin cells and collagen. This reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles, breaks down scar tissue, targets stretch marks, discolouration and pigmentation, and texture.
"I loved the results from having this treatment - I definitely noticed a tightening on my jawline and my cheekbones look more lifted. The laser gave a very noticeable glow after the redness subsided (for me this happened on day 3) and I've been going practically makeup-free since the treatment - just putting on some concealer under the eyes and a bit of bronzer. My skin has never looked this good basically."

Book your TreatmentDepending on your pain threshold and the type of treatment, topical anaesthetic may be applied 10- 30 minutes prior to treatment. Your doctor will then place a handheld device that pulses the laser onto your skin, moving the device over the treatment area. Cool air is applied during and after the treatment to ease any discomfort.
Each pulse of the laser causes a snapping sensation that can be compared to the snapping of a rubber band. The device has a built in cooling system is highly effective at providing additional comfort.
Results depend on the type of treatment being carried out, but you will generally notice an improvement in both texture and tone of the skin one to two weeks after the first treatment. After three or more consecutive treatments, there will be further improvement.
For optimal results, a series of three to five sessions spaced three to four weeks apart is recommended. You may also wish to incorporate a treatment touch-up treatment every six months to maintain results.
Immediately after your Fraxel laser treatment your skin will feel warm, red, and may be slightly swollen (similar to a sunburn). These effects usually resolve on their own within one to three days at most. Some mild bruising may also occur over particularly delicate areas, as well as crusting, scabbing and darkened patches. These reactions gradually subside within one to two weeks after treatment.
This technology is FDA approved and one of the safest lasers available for aesthetic non-surgical treatments.
Fraxel is suitable for everyone. It is a popular treatment suitable for women and men of all skin types and tones.
