There are a number of reasons people consider dermal fillers, primarily to address cosmetic concerns and enhance their facial appearance. As we age, our skin loses elasticity and volume, leading to wrinkles, sagging, and hollowed areas. Dermal fillers help reverse these signs of ageing by adding volume, smoothing out wrinkles, and enhancing facial contours. By injecting fillers into specific areas, such as the cheeks, lips, and under-eye area, individuals can achieve a more youthful and rejuvenated look.
Dermal fillers are a popular non-invasive option as they offer quick results with minimal downtime. They can boost self-confidence, improve facial symmetry, and restore a more youthful complexion.
Dermal fillers are cosmetic injectables used to restore volume, smooth out wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. They are commonly used to reduce signs of aging and improve the appearance of the skin.
Dermal fillers are typically composed of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance found in the human body that helps retain moisture and add volume to the skin. When injected, it plumps up the area and stimulates collagen production, providing a more youthful and smoother appearance.
Dermal fillers are administered through a series of injections directly into the targeted areas of the face. Once injected, the dermal filler adds volume and plumps up the area, filling in wrinkles, folds, or hollows. This helps to smooth out the skin and create a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance. Hyaluronic acid fillers also have the ability to attract and retain water molecules, providing an added hydration boost to the treated areas.
Dermal fillers are versatile cosmetic treatments that can be used to address concerns various areas of the face. Some of the common areas that can be treated with dermal fillers include:
These are just some of the areas where dermal fillers can be used. Each person's facial anatomy is unique, and the type and amount of filler used will vary depending on the desired outcome.
Book your TreatmentBefore starting treatment, the area will be cleansed and a topical numbing cream or local anaesthetic may be applied to minimise discomfort during the injections. Next, a fine needle or blunt-tipped cannula will be used to inject the dermal filler into the targeted areas. The injections are carefully placed to achieve the desired results while ensuring a natural and balanced appearance. You may feel a slight pinch or pressure during the injections, but any discomfort is usually minimal. The practitioner may massage the treated areas to ensure even distribution of the filler, and then make minor adjustments as needed to achieve the best outcome.
You should start to see the immediate results of the filler treatment, though the full effects may become more apparent as any initial swelling subsides and the filler settles in the treated areas. Depending on the type of filler used, the results can last anywhere from several months to a couple of years.
The downtime for treatment is minimal and you can return to normal activities immediately. As with any injectable treatment, you may experience some localised swelling, redness or bruising, particularly with the lip area, but it usually goes away very quickly.
You should only need one treatment to achieve the desired results. However, fillers aren’t permanent, with results lasting anywhere from several months to a couple of years. Touch-up treatments will be required to maintain results.
